Emphasis on Congregational Prayer and Observance of Islamic Rulings during the Reform Activities of Morality Officials in Eight Provinces
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, have as part of their ongoing reformative and guidance activities and in accordance with their work plan, conducted inspections of mosques, schools, educational institutions, and public places in the provinces of Bamyan, Laghman, Balkh, Kapisa, Baghlan, Farah, Nuristan, and Takhar.
They emphasized compliance with Islamic Sharia rulings and the performance of congregational prayers.
During these activities, the ministry’s officials (Muhtasibs) carried out their oversight responsibilities and provided religious guidance, encouraging the people, officials, and residents of these provinces to perform the five daily prayers on time, particularly in congregation, observe Islamic manners and rulings, and pay attention to religious and moral values.
During the visits and guidance activities, the importance of mosques as centers of worship, Islamic education, and religious upbringing was also emphasized. People were urged to play an active role in maintaining and developing mosques, attending congregational prayers, and promoting Islamic values in society.
In another part of their activities, the ministry’s officials also inspected schools and educational institutions, emphasizing compliance with Islamic principles and rulings, observance of the Islamic hijab, adherence to Islamic manners, and the establishment of an appropriate religious and educational environment.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue in the aforementioned provinces said that the reformative and guidance activities of the officials are carried out within the framework of their work plan, with the aim of strengthening the culture of promoting virtue and preventing vice, promoting Islamic religious symbols and practices, and improving religious and social affairs across different sectors of society.
They added that, in the course of these activities, the officials not only conduct oversight but also seek, through advice, guidance, and religious awareness-raising, to create better conditions for compliance with Islamic Sharia rulings as well as religious and moral values in society.
