Muhtasibs in Balkh Province rescued a young woman from a forced marriage

Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Directorate for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, in Balkh Province addressed a case involving a forced marriage as part of their efforts to safeguard women's Islamic legal rights and respond to public complaints.

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Directorate in Balkh stated that, after receiving a public complaint alleging that the family of a young woman was attempting to force her into marriage without her consent, they investigated the matter thoroughly and prevented the forced marriage from taking place.

While handling the case, the officials (Muhtasibs) emphasized the importance of safeguarding women's Islamic legal rights, ensuring the consent of both parties in the marriage contract, and adhering to Islamic principles in family matters.

Meanwhile, in Khost Province, the case of a young man and woman who were facing family pressure during the marriage process was also reviewed.

After conducting the necessary investigations and confirming the full consent of both parties, their marriage contract was registered and solemnized in accordance with Islamic law.

Local officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, in both provinces stressed that addressing public complaints, protecting individuals' Islamic legal rights, and resolving family-related cases remain among their top priorities.

They affirmed that they will not allow the Islamic legal rights of women to be disregarded by individuals or families.
