Prevention of the Sale of Nearly One Ton of Expired Food Items in Ghor and Nangarhar Provinces
As a result of inspections (Muhtasibs) carried out by personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, on shops, stores, and production companies in Ghor and Nangarhar provinces, nearly one ton of low-quality and expired food items was collected.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the ministry in these two provinces emphasized the full implementation of religious rules and regulations in commercial transactions, stating that this action was taken to ensure public health, prevent the sale and distribution of spoiled and low-quality food, and maintain order in the markets. The confiscated items included various packaged food products, beverages, and other goods whose expiration dates had passed and could have posed a serious risk to public health.Additionally, officials of the ministry in Ghor and Nangarhar held separate meetings with traders and shopkeepers, advising them to adhere to required standards in the sale of goods and stressing the continuation of monitoring efforts in this sector
