Personnel (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, have addressed six Sharia-based and legal cases related to women's Mahr (dowry) and Nafaqah (maintenance) in the provinces of Herat, Ghor, Maidan Wardak, Farah, and Takhar as part of efforts to safeguard women's Islamic rights and uphold justice.

Local officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry in the aforementioned provinces stated that, following the receipt of complaints from the affected women, the cases were thoroughly examined by Muhtasibs in accordance with the principles of Islamic Sharia, with due diligence, integrity, and complete impartiality

As a result, the complainants' Sharia-based rights concerning Mahr and Nafaqah were secured, and their lawful entitlements were granted in accordance with Islamic rulings.

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry emphasized that handling Sharia-related cases and protecting the legitimate rights of the public—particularly women—constitute an integral part of their responsibilities, adding that these efforts will continue within the framework of Islamic law.

It is noteworthy that these cases are being addressed at a time when, over the past month, nearly one hundred women have successfully obtained their Sharia-based and legal rights in matters related to inheritance and Mahr.
