Rescue of 15 Women from Domestic Violence in Seven Provinces

Officials  (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Kunduz, Balkh, Takhar, and Farah, following public reports, identified 15 women who had been subjected to domestic violence over many years and placed them under Sh/ar.,ia-based protection.
These women, who had been deprived of their Sh.ar.ia rights due to prolonged domestic abuse, were rescued from violent situations as a result of the efforts of the ministry’s officials, and their Sh,ar,,ia rights were restored.Furthermore, the ministry’s officials (Muhtasibs)in the mentioned provinces summoned the husbands and relatives of these women to the departments for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. 
After comprehensive review and providing religious guidance and recommendations regarding the observance of women’s Sh,,ar,ia rights, written commitments were obtained from them to refrain in the future from any behavior contrary to Islamic rulings and from committing acts of violence against their wives.
