Rescue of one woman in the center of Uruzgan province after enduring one year of violence and house confinement

In continuation of their efforts and with the aim of protecting women’s rights under Sh/ar/ia, the moral inspectors (Muhrtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Uruzgan province rescued a woman in the Khiro Karez area of Tarin Kot, the provincial capital.
 The woman had been subjected to physical abuse, domestic oppression, and violence by her family members for the past year.
The inspectors stated that the woman had been kept under house arrest for a year and deprived of all her Sharia rights.
After being rescued by the inspectors (Muhtasibs), she was granted access to all of her legitimate rights.
The inspectors (Muhtasibs) also assured that they will continue to fully defend women’s Sh/ar/ia rights and will prevent harmful practices and traditions that threaten these rights.
