Six women were rescued from un Islamic marriage in four provinces
The inspectors of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing the Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Paktika, Zabul, Balkh, and Ghor, as part of their ongoing daily activities, rescued four women whose families had intended to marry them off against their will due to harmful traditional practices.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the provincial directorates of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice said that the families of these women had intended to forcibly marry them off against their wishes in accordance with harmful traditional practices, but the inspectors (Muhtasibs) intervened and prevented the forced marriages.
It is worth noting that officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints consider the protection of women’s rights a priority and assure that they will not allow anyone to violate women’s rights.
