The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, guided by the principles of Islamic Sharia and through the implementation of reform programs, has carried out significant and valuable activities aimed at promoting virtue, preventing vice, strengthening Islamic brotherhood, safeguarding the Sharia-based rights of the people—especially women—and combating acts contrary to Islamic law.

1.Official Visits of Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlawi Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, Minister of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue.

During the month of Saratan of the current year, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlawi Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, Minister of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, continued his provincial visits and met with religious scholars, respected elders, tribal leaders, and officials of the Islamic Emirate in the northern, eastern, western, northeastern, southeastern, and central zones of the country. During these meetings, he emphasized the implementation of Islamic Sharia, enforcement of the Law on the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, and strengthening public cooperation with the ministry's inspectors (Muhtasibs).

2. Addressing Women's Sharia-Based Rights.

As part of implementing Islamic Sharia and safeguarding women's Sharia-based rights, the ministry's personnel (Muhtasibs) addressed 388 cases related to women's rights during the month of Saratan. These included:

199 cases of oppression and injustice, 46 cases concerning inheritance rights,33 cases of forced marriage,36 cases involving dowry (Mahr),28 cases related to maintenance (Nafaqah),27 cases concerning the facilitation of lawful marriages for girls, and 19 cases related to divorce.

3. Resolution of Disputes and Long-Standing Feuds.

In line with strengthening Islamic brotherhood, promoting peace, and reconciling disputes, the ministry's personnel (Muhtasibs) successfully resolved 49 long-standing feuds and 175 family, tribal, and local disputes during the past month through mutual understanding and in accordance with the principles of Islamic Sharia.

4. Combating Sorcery

As part of protecting Islamic values and safeguarding the religious beliefs of society, the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints identified and detained 32 individuals on charges of practicing sorcery in Kabul and several other provinces during the month of Saratan 1405.

5. Economic Meetings.

To prevent hoarding, monitor prices, stop the sale of substandard and expired goods, and protect consumers' rights, the ministry's inspectors held 710 reform-oriented meetings with traders, industrialists, shopkeepers, and other economic stakeholders across various provinces during the month of Saratan.

Additionally, nearly 10 metric tons of substandard and expired food products were collected from markets and, following the completion of the required legal procedures, were destroyed.
