Thirty-nine women were rescued from various forms of abuse in six provinces across the country

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Ghazni, Ghor, Balkh, Nimroz, Helmand, and Paktika provinces have ensured the rights of 39 women and prevented harmful practices against them. These women had been facing difficulties due to harmful customs and had been deprived of their Sh/ar/.ia rights.

According to the Muhtasibs, the women had been subjected to domestic abuse, denial of financial support, psychological and physical mistreatment, and other harmful incidents, but were rescued through the efforts of the Ministry’s personnel (Muhtasibs).

The Muhtasibs further stated that they remain fully committed to ensuring women’s legitimate Sh/ar/.ia rights and will not allow anyone to violate or deny those rights

 

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry’s Muhtasibs have handled thousands of cases related to women’s rights across the country, including cases involving inheritance, domestic violence, bride price, forced marriages used to settle disputes, and unlawful marriages.
