Two Sorcerers Arrested in Kabul Province
Personnel (Muhtasibs)of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Kabul Province have arrested two professional sorcerers from the 14th and 6th police districts of the city while they were allegedly engaged in acts contrary to Islamic Sh/ar/ia. Books and documents related to sorcery were also confiscated during the operation.
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry stated that the suspects were attempting to create division and conflict among families through the use of magical tools and sorcery-related books. With the cooperation of local residents, the two individuals were arrested and, after preliminary investigations, referred to the judicial and legal authorities.
Officials of the Ministry in Kabul emphasized that sorcery and witchcraft are considered among the major sins and clear manifestations of corruption, stressing that they will take serious action against any activities that violate Isl/am.ic values.
The arrest of these two individuals comes as personnel of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue reportedly detained nearly 20 people over the past week on charges related to practicing sorcery and referred them to judicial authorities for the implementation of Sh/ar/.ia justice.
