Muhtasibs in Logar and Faryab provinces handed over inheritance rights to seven women
Inspectors (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Logar and Faryab, in commitment to protecting women’s rights and in accordance with the six-article decree issued by Honorable Am/ir al. Mu/mi/nin, granted women their Sh/ar/ia based inheritance rights.
These were women whose inheritance cases against their brothers had remained unresolved for a long time.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that the women had been requesting their inheritance rights from their brothers for many years, and despite numerous efforts, they had not been able to obtain their legitimate Is/la/mic rights. However, through the efforts of the inspectors, they finally received their rightful inheritance.
Officials (Muhtasibs) further added that they are fully committed to ensuring all Sh/ar/ia-based rights of women are protected and will not allow anyone to engage in violence or oppressive behavior against women.
It is worth mentioning that officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints have, across the country, rescued hundreds of women from domestic violence, unlawful confinement, non-Sh/ar/ia marriages, and suicide, and have also ensured that hundreds of women received their legitimate inheritance rights.
