Securing the inheritance rights of a woman in Maidan Wardak Province
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Maidan Wardak Province, in line with their commitment to women’s rights and based on the six-article decree issued by Honorable Amir/al /Mu/mi/nin for safeguarding women’s rights, handed over the rightful inheritance share to a woman whose inheritance case had remained unresolved with her brothers for a long time.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that the woman had been requesting her inheritance rights from her brothers and relatives for many years, but despite numerous efforts, she had not been able to obtain her legitimate Is/la/mic right. Through the efforts of the inspectors (Muhtasibs), she finally received her lawful share. Officials further added that they will continue striving with full dedication to ensure that all women receive their legitimate Is/la/mic rights and will not allow anyone to engage in violence or oppressive behavior against women.
It is worth mentioning that officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints have, across the country, rescued hundreds of women from domestic violence, unlawful confinement, forced and un-Is/la/mic marriages, and suicide, while also helping hundreds of women obtain their lawful inheritance rights.
