Preventing two cases of forced marriage involving women in Ghor Province

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints of IEA, in Ghor Province prevented two cases of forced marriage as part of their efforts to implement Islamic law, promote social justice, and prevent oppression and violence against women.

According to officials (Muhtasibs) from the department, the cases were thoroughly investigated after receiving complaints from the affected women.

The department's personnel held a series of reform-oriented, advisory, and awareness-raising meetings, encouraging the families involved to observe Islamic teachings, respect the religious rights of women, and uphold the principle of mutual consent in marriage.

As a result of these efforts, both forced marriages were halted.

Officials of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints in Ghor Province emphasized that the department's inspectors remain committed to safeguarding the religious rights of citizens, particularly women, in accordance with the principles of Islamic law. They added that social and family disputes are addressed through peaceful, conciliatory, and advisory approaches.

The prevention of these two cases of forced marriage in Ghor Province comes as the leadership of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints continues to encourage the public to uphold Islamic principles, preserve human dignity, and promote a peaceful and just society.
