In Balkh province, officials have arrested a sorcerer who was engaging in un-Islamic practices under the guise of spiritual healing and amulets

As part of their ongoing daily activities, officials (Muhtasibs) in Balkh Province have arrested a sorcerer in Balkh District who allegedly sowed discord and created problems among families under the guise of spiritual healing and amulets. 
He was reportedly involved in fraudulent magical practices in exchange for money and was apprehended along with numerous books on sorcery and unlawful amulets.
Officials (Muhtasibs) stated that, following complaints from local residents, they arrested the individual along with books on sorcery and tools used for magical practices. 
The suspect had allegedly been taking money from people under the pretext of resolving family problems while engaging in unlawful activities.
He will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further investigation.
The officials also assured the public that they would not allow anyone to engage in superstitious or un-Islamic practices in society. They called on the public to cooperate with the Muhtasibs in combating and eliminating such harmful practices.
