A forced marriage involving a woman was prevented, and arrangements were made to facilitate the marriage of a young woman in Khost Province

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Khost Province have prevented the forced marriage of a woman to an elderly man and, in a separate case, facilitated the lawful marriage of a young woman in accordance with her consent and wishes, as part of their efforts to safeguard people's Sharia-based rights, particularly those of women.

Ministry officials (Muhtasibs) in Khost stated that, after receiving and registering a complaint regarding an attempt to force a woman into marriage without her consent, the provincial directorate addressed the case and, following an investigation, prevented the forced marriage from taking place.

In a separate case, officials from the directorate held discussions with the family of a young woman and provided advice and guidance based on Islamic Sharia.

As a result, they facilitated her lawful marriage while ensuring that her consent and wishes were respected.

Ministry officials (Muhtasibs) in the province emphasized that addressing such cases is part of their efforts to protect women's Sharia-based rights, prevent forced marriages, and reform improper social customs.

They also stressed the importance of observing Islamic Sharia rulings in marriage-related matters and respecting women's Sharia-based rights.

According to the rulings of Islamic Sharia, women's rights in marriage must be respected, and no woman should be forced to marry against her consent and wishes.
