Officials Call on the Public to Cooperate in Maintaining Public Order and Refrain from Using Firecrackers at Celebratory Events
Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in Kabul, Takhar, Kandahar, Samangan, Laghman, Zabul, and Nangarhar provinces have called on residents to refrain from using, purchasing, and selling firecrackers during celebrations in order to maintain public order, ensure the peace and comfort of citizens, and prevent disturbances and harassment.
During a series of reform-oriented and coordination meetings with religious scholars, community representatives, mosque imams, and tribal elders, the ministry's inspectors emphasized that the use of firecrackers during celebrations creates excessive noise, disrupts public peace, and may cause distress, inconvenience, and disturbance to families and other members of the community.
They also urged religious scholars, community representatives, mosque imams, and tribal elders to cooperate fully with ministry officials by raising public awareness through sermons, religious gatherings, and community meetings, encouraging people to observe Islamic principles, Islamic moral values, and the rights of their neighbours.
During these meetings, the ministry's inspectors (Muhtasibs) stressed that maintaining social peace, respecting citizens' rights, and preventing actions and behaviours that disturb or harass others are among the important religious and social responsibilities of every Muslim.
They further stated that those who violate these instructions would be dealt with in accordance with Islamic Sharia rulings and the principles and regulations of the Islamic system.
At the conclusion of the meetings, participants emphasized the importance of joint cooperation among the public, religious scholars, and relevant authorities to prevent the use, purchase, and sale of firecrackers, maintain public order, and create a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens.
