Monitoring of Commercial Centers by the Ministry officials and the Holding of Reformative Meetings with Shopkeepers and Traders in Three Provinces

Officials (Muhtasibs) of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing of Complaints of IEA, in the provinces of Kunduz, Baghlan, and Takhar, as part of their ongoing monitoring and reform programs, inspected a number of commercial centers, shops, and public places.

They also held awareness and reform meetings with traders and shopkeepers, discussing compliance with Islamic principles and values in business transactions and the protection of customers’ rights.

During these meetings, the officials (Muhtasibs) emphasized that traders and shopkeepers should refrain from any form of fraud, under-measuring or under-selling, concealing defects in goods, and selling expired products, and should respect the rights of customers.

Furthermore, during these meetings, issues such as avoiding interest (riba), hoarding, price gouging, fraud, the sale of low-quality and expired goods, as well as honesty and trustworthiness in commercial transactions, were discussed and reviewed.

The officials of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue further emphasized the importance of implementing Islamic values in commercial activities and called on traders and shopkeepers to uphold honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, and respect for people’s rights in their business dealings.

Meanwhile, the traders and shopkeepers welcomed the awareness and reform programs and expressed their commitment to cooperating with the officials and observing Islamic principles and values in their commercial activities.
